This was a wordless comic created to tell an existing short story “The Wish” by Roald Dahl. Part of the brief restricted the production to be out of two colours only, so I explored the use of coloured paper to further enhance the palette. Much of my early development also centred around the methods of creating depth in an image, particularly the less traditional idea of using digitised blur on the illustrations. The Red/Black/Yellow scheme came from what was described in the original story, with the red further utilised with the cel shaded shadowing style.
As an additional development of the existing comic, I added animations of selected panels, viewable through augmented reality software. This was intended to enhance the telling of the story and illustrate transitions between the panels to help the story flow more smoothly and clearly.
