For this character design brief, I looked at the idea of my own interpretation and characterisation of what a “scapegoat” looks like, as scapegoating is a very common practice in society at present. This developed from the literal animal depicted in biblical lore, into an omnipresent, super hero-like character.
After extensive exploration of the form of the character (see: the big goat mask) a collaborative storyboard was made, featuring a story involving other characters created within my assigned group. From this team project, I was then tasked with creating my own adaptation of the story, featuring my character.
I decided to maintain a certain feel from the early development work by hand drawing the comic panel by panel, and using InDesign to structure it.
